TickerTrends has launched a new GitHub Commit Mentions dataset, now available to TickerTrends clients. The dataset tracks model mentions across GitHub commits, providing a view into developer adoption and shifts in model usage over time.
OpenAI: GPT-5.6 adoption accelerates
OpenAI model mentions reached 13K/day, with GPT-5.6 representing 84% of current model-family mentions.
GPT-5.6 reached 11K mentions/day, up 119.9% WoW and 300.9% MoM. Within the GPT-5.6 family, Sol leads at 3K/day, increasing 113.4% WoW and 76.5% MoM.
Meanwhile, older model families have declined, with GPT-5.5 down 72.0% MoM and GPT-5.4 down 49.0% MoM.
Anthropic: Opus leads while Sonnet gains
Anthropic model mentions reached 526K/day, led by Claude Opus at 325K/day.
Claude Sonnet reached 109K/day, up 18.3% WoW and 18.9% MoM, the strongest recent growth among the major Anthropic models. Claude Fable reached 90K/day, while Claude Haiku stood at 2K/day.
The new TickerTrends GitHub Commit Mentions dataset is available to clients and will be rolling out across associated names through new GitHub commit trackers.
